In the transformation process of transformers with the refining and reuse of the mineral oil, Sigma contributes in the reduction of non-renewable raw materials, as well as in the reduction of residues that would be generated if these materials weren’t reused.
We are always in constant development of new tools for project adjustment, where among other objectives we aim the reduction of waste and better use of raw material. Sigma Transformers has been implementing reduction techniques in its processes, replacement and optimization of materials, aiming to reduce at maximum the environmental impacts that the company would generate during the development of its activities.
An example of it is the incentive to use vegetable oil in our transformers, we try to give our clients the idea that the use of this product; although it is more expensive than the mineral oil; provides advantages for the safety of the installations as well as the environment. This oil is produced from natural esters, extracted from renewable sources such as soybeans, and is align with concern for the environment, as it is a biodegradable product the use of this oil contributes to the reduction of petroleum.
We conduct periodic trainings with our collaborators, highlighting the importance of awareness of the reduction of generation and correct segregation of solid waste generated in the production process, making possible a more adequate destination for it.
Sigma transformers complies with the country’s applicable laws and has an environmental license for all of its activities. In addition, environmental monitoring of all its productive process is carried out through periodic environmental analysis of the quality of water, soil and air to ensure that everything is in compliance with the established standards for each activity.
